Project Summary

The Muridkay Village Water Drive marked the first successful hand pump installation under the Waves of Change campaign. Lambray, a small settlement near Sheikhupura, lacked clean drinking water for years. Families relied on distant or shared sources, exposing them to waterborne illnesses and long treks—especially difficult for children and the elderly.

Our team chose a centrally located household for the installation to ensure accessibility. Local labor was employed to install the pump using high-quality, sustainable materials, fostering community ownership and participation.

The pump now directly serves 7+ family members and benefits the surrounding neighborhood. The impact was immediate: reduced illness, saved time, and improved hygiene.

This project is proof that even small interventions can restore dignity, health, and opportunity.
